The Sphere Handbook is a standout amongst the most globally perceived arrangements of basic humanitarian standards. Disaster Forum is well recognised among the development community for the translation of all versions of Sphere Handbook in 2003, 2008, 2011 and 2018 (ongoing process). Humanitarian actors use this Bangla version of the book widely. Disaster Forum also conducted a series of Sphere training and orientation focused on enhancing skills of humanitarian workers to apply Sphere standards through capacity building events as well as knowledge sharing. New edition (Fifth including the draft edition) of 2018 sphere handbook has launched on 06 November 2018 to fulfil demand of the time. To mark the launching of the new edition 2018 Disaster Forum has organized several training in collaboration with Korea NGO Council for Overseas Development Cooperation, Danish Refugee Council, NGO Platform in Bangladesh, Centre for Disability in Development (CDD), CBM and Swiss Solidarity (SwS), Aktion Deutschland Hilft, Islamic Relief worldwide, PULSE Bangladesh, Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Deutschland eV, Gonoshasthaya Kendra and Malteser International (German) and Sphere Community in Bangladesh .

Foundation for Disaster Forum together with Aktion Deutschland Hilft and German humanitarian Assistance, are going to organized 5-days Sphere-Training from December 05 to 09, 2021, in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.

The aim of the training is to develop capacity of field practitioners and mid-level managers in implementation of Sphere, which will enable them to deliver humanitarian interventions with quality and also contribute to ensure the accountability.

Participants for the training will be selected based on the following criteria:
• Local field practitioners and mid-level managers working in humanitarian response program in Cox’s Bazar.
• Professional experience and area of responsibility.
• Pre-knowledge and practical experience of minimum standards in humanitarian response.
Gender balance and inclusiveness will be taken into account.
Trainings agenda: Will be shared with the selected organizations and participants.

Dates:December 05-09, 2021
Cost:The training is free of charge for all participants. Participants who need accommodation (incl. breakfast and dinner) at Cox’s Bazar could be organised upon the request of the respective organizations. Relevant training materials and Food (lunch & coffee breaks) will be provided during the training. Participants have to organize their travel to the venue by 6.00 pm
