The flood protection embankment of Ichhamoti River collapsed without a hint at Shushilgata in Debhata upazila of Satkhira on thursday, 14 July, 2011. Water gushing out through the 70-80ft damaged part flooded fish farms and agro-fields of surrounding areas. During the following high tide, the collapsed part expanded to about 200ft which resulted into saline
